Premarital Covenant Agreement

The pastors, staff, and Biblical Counseling Ministry at Spring Lake Church care about your marriage and are committed to building marriages that honor and glorify Jesus Christ. We believe the marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman who pledge themselves before God and others with promises and vows for a lifetime commitment to each other. Marriage is sacred because God witnesses the vows that are made. Since marriage is held in high esteem, we are committed to help nurture lives and marriages so that they grow in line with God's will and purposes.

Our prayer for you is that your marriage is one that will last for a lifetime.

I, the Groom-to-Be:

Agree to engage in premarital counseling as a couple in conjunction with one of the pastors or with a premarital counseling couple. *

Agree and consent to follow the pastoral direction given to us by the pastor or premarital couple counseling us. *

Agree to maintain a standard of sexual purity throughout the engagement. *

Agree to make a vow to God for a lifetime of covenant marriage. *

I agree to actively participate in the life of the church now and after our marriage. *

I understand that the pastor(s) or premarital counseling couple retains the right to end the premarital process and cancel Spring Lake Church's participation in the wedding if this agreement is not sincerely fulfilled. *
